Buckeye Football

As I have advertised in my "about me" section, I love The Ohio State University. Not just because I am currently a student there, but because I have been brainwashed by my parents since day one to love the school and the football team. No matter what has happened to the university, we have stuck by them. This is no different today. No matter all the crazy events and resignations, I still love my team. All summer at my internship I have been meeting new people, with this comes introducing yourself and what school you go to. Every time the words "Ohio State" slip out, people's faces immediately change. Some look confused or in pain. Then the same two phrases come out, "Oh, well how is that going to be?" or "That's great, but what about that football team?". All questions that don't need to be answered, because in my opinion they should already know the answer. If you think that for one second I would not support my football team, because of 5 people's mistakes, you are very very wrong. I tell everyone the same thing, I am done talking about the subject, and if you were a true buckeye, through and through, you would support them this year and help them into the next (hopefully) few dark years. I have a video here for all of you die hard Buckeye fans like me. I am truly excited for this season, I cannot wait to see how well we can do without our past heroes. Enjoy the video, and please no hating about the Bucks here, this is a no hate zone.

Arrested Development

This week is my "vacation". I am currently in Toronto visiting the boyfriend, and my days so far have consisted of laying by the pool, reading and maybe a movie here or there. We have also revisited one of our favorite shows, Arrested Development. The show was only on for 3 seasons, and was one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. They are supposed to be making am movie, but we haven't heard much about it. So in light of this rediscovery, here are some funny clips to maybe get you interested in watching the awesome 3 seasons on netflix. Enjoy!

Cute, Cute, Cute and More Cute

I decided to take breaks from blogging for the weekends. Mostly because otherwise I would have nothing to talk about, or find, so this gives me some time to do things. Today is the exception. I was just browsing and found this video of this dog. Although it is like 5 seconds long, its still cute. So for all you dog lovers, like me, I found some of my favorite dog videos. (also I threw in my all time favorite cat video as well) Happy Lazy Sunday and Enjoy! (and if you don't I know my mother appreciate this).
P.S.- Props to my awesomely smart boyfriend, who helped me make these videos centered. Thanks Boyfriend! (someday he'll teach me his ways of html greatness)

Sara Bareilles

On Tuesday I was given free tickets to go to one of my favorite artist's concert. I wanted to go when she was in Columbus in May, but I had too much work to do and couldn't go. I was determined to go this time, and sure enough, I got really lucky and scored tickets. I had a wonderful time and enjoyed every second. She is amazing live, even better than her cd, at least in my opinion. She loves to have fun on stage and interact with the audience, which makes it a better atmosphere all around. As I mentioned in my last post, I do seriously want to be her. It may be creepy, but what the hell I don't care. So as promised I am going to give you the awesome pictures and some videos from my time at the Sara Bareilles concert. Enjoy! (The pictures are not amazing quality, but I don't have a fancy scmancy camera)

Internship Saga: Part Five

I am back with yet another tale from the the Q104/WDOK station. This week I have been very busy and have a lot to share with you. On Monday, Nancy and I went to the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter. We filmed yet again, and I edited the video together yesterday.

Last night I had the chance to go to the Sara Bareilles concert, which was AMAZING. She is fantastic live and interacts with the audience a ton. I really enjoyed the concert and I have decided I want to be her, she is so great. (creepy? maybe, but seriously I love her)

Since I have so much to share, I will share the shelter video first then tomorrow I promise I will share my awesome concert experience. I would share both with you today, but I haven't uploaded my pictures yet, so that's a no go. Until then, enjoy the video and look at all the cute puppies!

Italian Egg Rolls??

You might think that is an oxymoron; it is anything but that. These delicious rolls were made for me today by the lovely Nancy Alden. She had made them over the weekend for a vegetarian friend. They are stuffed with spinach and parmesan cheese. Honestly I don't try much because I am such a picky eater, but these I tried and loved. So if you are looking for something easy and delicious, or even if you need something for a vegetarian these are for you!
This is the link to Nancy's blog on the WDOK webiste, she gives you the recipe and instructions. Also there is a picture of me modeling the rolls (a radio star and a model...can you say famous?!)  Enjoy!

Internship Saga: Part Four

Today I edited another great piece for WDOK. Nancy and I went to the Cleveland APL yesterday to do a spotlight on two animals. This video, along with the other one I did, will be featured on the WDOK website. These spotlights are to try to get people out to the APL and pick up these two animals, or any others they see in the video. I had a great time going to the APL, I wanted to take home every single animal I looked at. Today I put together the video and I was on a deadline, so Nancy told me rough editing. There were a lot more things I would have done, but I did the best with what I was given. I wanted to share the finished product with you all. So here it is, I hope you enjoy and maybe even go adopt an animal!

Great Albums

I have to talk about these two amazing albums I have recently downloaded. A post or two ago I posted a video for the song "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster The People. I liked it so much that I downloaded the whole album called "Torches". The band first called itself Foster and The People, named after Mark Foster, the lead singer. People misheard it and began calling them Foster The People. It took to meaning nurturing the people, so they kept the name. I have been searching for good new music, something different, this was my answer. I have been listening to "Torches" on repeat, it is so good. The songs are contagious. I would recommend this album to anyone, well anyone who is into the Indie scene.

Another album that I would also recommend is "Young Love" by Mat Kearney. I have always loved Mat even though his music hasn't gotten very popular. He does have a good following and it has gotten his music featured on many tv shows like Grey's Anatomy, One Tree Hill, and Scrubs. He has a unique sound. On his earlier albums, he mixed his singer songwriter sounds with some low-key rhymes. I loved that he sounded like other singers I liked, but with his own twist. His new album is just as good, actually even better in my eyes than his last.

If you are looking for new music, try these two amazing albums. I am sure glad I did, because I was in need for great summer music! I have the videos to a couple of their songs, take a look and Enjoy!
**UPDATE: I posted Mat's new video for "Hey Mama" also a great song!**

"Call It What You Want" Foster The People

"Chasing The Light" Mat Kearney

Internship Saga: Part Three

My latest project at the station has been for WDOK. I filmed my lovely mother about pet finance tips for the website. WDOK does a lot of work for the APL. I then spent yesterday and today editing it and finalizing it. I would love to show you the finished product. It may just be a bunch of Vet nonsense, but my editing skills have not faded after 6 years! Enjoy!

Pumped Up Kicks

Today I actually got to be on the radio, very impromptu. It turns out I don't have a radio voice, it's OK, no dreams were shattered.
I actually wanted to share this amazing song with you. I am currently loving this song and cannot get enough of it. It's called "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster The People. Hope you enjoy as much as I do.
